The Story Clinic is Dr Walter’s practical give-back after life-long, continuing learning.
He grew up in a strict, Christian Evangelical context, and instinctively realized that the words and the real stories didn’t match up.
Dr Walter started off by graduating in English, Psychology and Religious Studies, and began by teaching in schools, moving on to colleges and ending up in higher education.
He continued to ask what story the body itself tells and graduated in homeopathic medicine.
In essence the Story Clinic applies this view: what lacks most of all in humanity is self-knowledge, without which love cannot grow. Paying attention to how you pay attention is crucial and the ways in which you form your stories are crucial.
Deep listening, clear understanding and skilful questions help to unpack the hidden stories.
